Job Position: Junior Mechanical Engineer - Ship Engine Alignment

Job Description:

Global Alignment is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Marine Engineering team. This entry-level position will focus on the critical task of ship engine alignment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of marine propulsion systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior engineers in the planning and execution of ship engine alignment procedures.

• Perform precise measurements using various mechanical and optical alignment tools (e.g., dial indicators, laser alignment systems).

• Analyze measurement data and contribute to the development of alignment plans and adjustments.

• Assist in the installation and adjustment of engine mounts, couplings, and related components.

• Document alignment processes, measurements, and results accurately.

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., naval architecture, piping) to ensure seamless integration of engine systems.

• Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures during all tasks.

• Continuously learn and expand knowledge of ship engine alignment techniques and industry best practices.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and engine systems.

• Familiarity with measurement tools and techniques (preferred).

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in ship engine alignment.

 

Bonus Points:

• Internship or project experience related to marine engineering or engine systems.

• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

• Basic understanding of ship propulsion systems.
